As the lead developer overseeing Donrox's new webshop project, I had the privilege of collaborating with a talented team at surf&turf. Our goal was clear: to create a faster, more customisable online store and introduce a new line of bundled products that reflect Donrox's commitment in outdoor and equestrian gear.

Here are some key highlights from our project:

Objective: Our aim was to develop a high-performance, customisable webshop that could seamlessly integrate new product lines and elevate user experience.

Technologies Used: We utilised Shopify as our platform, leveraging HTML, Liquid (Shopify’s template engine), TailwindCSS, and JavaScript to craft a responsive and dynamic online store.

Framework: Notably, this project marked the debut of our proprietary framework, "Backbone," designed to enhance efficiency and streamline our development processes.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

Leadership: I provided guidance and mentorship to two junior developers, ensuring that our coding standards were upheld and that we delivered a polished final product.

Customisation: We successfully integrated Donrox's distinctive product requirements within the Shopify ecosystem, tailoring the store to meet their specific needs.

Performance: One of our proudest achievements was significantly boosting site speed. Our efforts resulted in very fast core web vitals (FCP of 1.084s and a LCP of 1.41s), thereby enhancing overall user experience.

Through our collaboration with Donrox, we not only delivered a robust and efficient webshop but also established a new benchmark for our development practices with the introduction of our "Backbone" framework. The successful launch of this project has not only improved site performance but also granted Donrox greater flexibility, positioning them well for future growth and innovation in their industry.
